It probably is the umbilical cord as a penis or vagina dont really look anything like you would think in an ultrasound. You generally need a trained eye to know what your looking at. Especially if it at 18-20 wk scan
no, i don’t think you can see thru other body parts. When I got my ultrasounds with my last baby, a boy, it was a clearly discernable organ with the testes either side but its pretty tiny and very hard to pick unless you have a very clear shot or are experienced.
